RRE and NCRE announce major partnership

RRE Power and North Carolina Renewable Energy today announced a significant partnership to develop more than 1,000 MW of solar PV capacity in the Eastern United States.
“We are pleased to be working with the experienced development team at NCRE” said Daven Mehta, CEO of RRE Power. “Our company already has more than 300 MW of projects realized in Texas, and adding more solar energy capacity in the Southeast has always been our ambition and the foundation for our growth goals. Through strengthening our partnership with NCRE and other developments in the US we are on track to complete more than 2 GW of clean energy in the United States by the end of 2020.”
The projects which are primarily located in North and South Carolina and Virginia are already at various stages of development and construction. Some of the solar projects will start as early as this summer.
The flagship project of the partnership; Centerfield Cooper Solar, recently completed the PPA negotiations with utility Santee Cooper and is nearing the end of the development stage. At 105 MWdc, this is the largest solar PV project contracted with the South Carolina utility to date. Other projects in the partnership include several 30 MW sites in South Carolina and 100 MW sites in North Carolina.

“Working with RRE Power has already created benefits and new opportunities for our company and our partners. They are a professional and experienced team, with the means to deliver development capital and expertise fast” said Dan Shaffer, President of NCRE. “We have an exciting development pipeline and it is great that companies like RRE Power see the value of this. We are looking forward to working with Daven and the team to deliver more solar PV to the market”.
